In line with Government policy during the COVID-19 pandemic, Pre-School will close at 3pm on Friday 20th March. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Re-opening from 8th June 2020:
The health and wellbeing of our children and staff is an absolute priority. We now have to operate on a reduced scale with less children, staggered start times and smaller groups within Pre-School. Some children may have to take priority such as those with key worker parents, vulnerable children and school leavers. Obviously it is almost impossible to expect our children to socially distance themselves, which is why we need to think very carefully how the sessions run. Therefore, please bear with us while we decide how best to operate Pre-School.
In the meantime, we have included 2 links (below) which will take you to the latest Government guidelines for parents/carers and for schools. The choice to send your child back to Pre-School is yours. Hopefully, this guidance will help you make an informed decision. Please do what is best for you and your family. Your child’s place will remain secure at Pre-School if you decide to delay their return.
If you have any queries, please feel free to contact us. Stay safe.
Thank you for your cooperation during this difficult time.

Updated guidance for education settings on coronavirus (COVID-19)
Today, the Department for Education and Public Health England have issued updated guidance
for education settings on COVID-19. This guidance will assist staff in addressing COVID-19 in
educational settings. This includes childcare, schools, further and higher educational institutions.
What you need to know:
• staff, young people and children should stay at home if they are unwell with a new,
continuous cough or a high temperature to avoid spreading infection to others. Otherwise they
should attend education or work as normal
• if staff, young people or children become unwell on site with a new, continuous cough or a high temperature they should be sent home
• clean and disinfect regularly touched objects and surfaces more often than usual using your standard cleaning products
• supervise young children to ensure they wash their hands for 20 seconds more often than usual with soap and water or hand sanitiser and catch coughs and sneezes in tissues
The updated guidance can be found here:
Current advice remains in place: no education or children’s social care setting should close in response to a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 case unless advised to do so by Public Health England.
The Chief Medical Officer has advised that the impact of closing schools on both children’s education and on the workforce would be substantial, but the benefit to public health may not be. Decisions on future advice to education or children’s social care settings will be taken based on the latest and best scientific evidence, which at this stage suggests children are a lower risk group.

Want to know more about our 'Little Explorers' activity?
We would love to see any photos you have of you and your child sharing a story.
Photos can be brought in to Pre-School or emailed to our usual address.
We welcome any photos of what you and your child did during the holidays. We display these on our language board to encourage the children to talk about their experiences.
We would welcome any photos of your child enjoying their time at home or in the holidays. We put these on a display to encourage the children to talk about what they did which helps develop language skills.
Term time calendar can be found on the downloads page.
Little Explorers - all parents/carers will be informed before their child takes part.
All children will get a chance to do this on a rota system.
We would still like to see some photos of holidays or trips out. We put these on our display board to encourage the children to talk about them. Please bring a copy in or email to email@example.com.
If you claim the extended entitlement funding, please ensure you apply during the term before your child turns 3 years old and let us have your completed funding claim form. We need to verify the claim online before the term starts in order to claim the funding. If you already claim up to 30 hours, please ensure you verify your details with HMRC when asked to do so.
If your child has an upset tummy, please ensure they are clear for at least 48 hours before returning to Pre-School. This helps to stop any bugs spreading and also gives your child time to recover.
